NOA Bakehouse

Evolved From Passion

Noa Bakehouse is a world-class, real bread, sourdough bakehouse + café and events space in Douglas on the Isle of Man. Potentially one of the first sourdough bakery centred café and restaurants outside of a major capital city, and before the currently widely recognized modern sourdough movement.? Noa Bakehouse was founded by Miles Petit, ex-industry, and his wife Pippa, in Jan 2013, upon their return to the Isle of Man after years in London.

The business’s physical and emotional roots are in its current bakery and café, which is housed in the Docks in Douglas in a “shabby disused retail space”, and has become an arts and cultural community hotspot, with events such as drawing clubs, baby and mum coffee mornings, Arts & Culture industry speed-dating and live music.

In terms of brand and packaging development, it was vital for us to portray and communicate the simple and creative nature that Miles and Pippa brought to the products and experience. The brand needed to be ‘handmade’ and represent the very passionate, honest, and very ‘likable’ and creative attributes that Pippa and Miles possess.

At the time we began with them they had to date used some local artists to mix and match some of their communications posters and marketing and we wanted to build on that. It had already begun to evolve a creative narrative that we felt was right, so we just helped define and progress it.
